Director Mudrov: In 2015, we significantly improved the health services of the Tešanj Health Center

The management of the Public Health Institution Health Center "Izudin Mulabećirović - Izo" Tešanj, led by director prim. dr. Hidajet Mudrov, has prepared a proposal of goals for 2016, guided by the basic mission of this health institution - to provide quality medical services that will ensure the satisfaction of patients and users in the municipality of Tešanj, but also beyond, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

The Tešanj Health Center states that the realization of goals in 2015 was 100%, and the annual work plan follows the needs and demands for the highest quality health service.

Our vision is to be a recognizable and respectable health institution that ensures top quality, knowledge, and capability in providing medical services in the field of primary health care - states Mudrov.

In the past 6 months, much has been done to improve health services, and significant equipment and devices have been procured for the Emergency Medical Service, Laboratory and X-ray Diagnostics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Service, Internal Medicine Outpatient Clinic, and Dental and Oral Health Service.

- In the past 4 months alone, the institution has allocated its own financial resources in the amount of 40,950 KM for these procurements. In order to ensure the fastest and most efficient service, we have equipped and opened two significant departments in the Jelah Outpatient Clinic - the Gynecology Department and the Biochemistry Laboratory. We have provided a dental X-ray machine, which is used for imaging individual teeth, and which until now only existed in some private polyclinics in the municipality of Tešanj - points out Mudrov.

Seven people have been employed through the Federal Employment Bureau, and a unique system for admitting interns has been developed.

- We strive to provide opportunities for young people and enable them to have professional and effective practice and work.

The Tešanj Health Center conducts all its activities very transparently, and everything is communicated to the public through its organized website, social networks, and local TV and radio stations.

- We are one of the few health institutions that cares about transparency and regular presentation of all events and undertaken actions to such an extent.

One of the activities is the equipping of the Hygiene-Epidemiological Service (HES), and recently this health institution received an official Decision from the Federal Ministry of Health to perform activities in the field of preventive disinfection, disinsection, and deratization (DDD) for the next 5 years.

- We have been waiting for this decision for over 6 months, and it represents another step forward. Namely, with this expansion of services, our institution has become the only institution in this area that is specialized and authorized for these activities. Until now, only the Public Health Institute of Zenica-Doboj Canton could do this in the canton - state the Health Center.

The accreditation of the institution remains a goal and priority, which is why continuous work is being done in this area. Currently, procedures are being developed for all services, and the accreditation of one service has already been completed. This is the Mental Health Center, which has met all criteria and received a positive assessment from the Agency for Quality and Accreditation in Healthcare of FBiH. The management is actively working on preparing other services for accreditation.

Improvement of the institution's operations

At the same time, the internal organization is being harmonized with bylaws and the actual needs of the institution. Various project applications for international and domestic investments and donations are continuously being prepared.

- We have also received several donations from pharmaceutical companies and non-governmental organizations, which have been distributed to local clinics and forwarded to patients who need help the most. Bruggs Hospital Switzerland donated 3 wheelchairs, TUZLA PHARM donated 1 inhaler, and the representative office of Boehringen Ingelheim RCV Gmbh&Co KG in BiH donated 2 inhalers.

The management continuously ensures participation in seminars and various lectures, and in the past period, regular internal training and professional meetings were organized.

- We organized various professional training sessions with the help of our partners and suppliers from the pharmaceutical sector. Our employees attended various training courses and educations in Zenica, Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla.

Director Mudrov stated that not only doctors and nurses attend training and professional development, but also the management.

- Namely, members of the Management Board attended relevant training sessions, and I, as the director of this institution, have completed a multi-year training cycle in the field of health management, and obtained the diploma "Top Manager in Healthcare". We have improved and established cooperation with various health institutions and organizations throughout BiH and beyond. We highlight the good cooperation with health centers in Zenica-Doboj and Tuzla Cantons. At the same time, we have very good cooperation with educational institutions in the local community, among which we emphasize the Secondary Vocational School, whose initiative to launch a new department of secondary medical school (laboratory technician) we have praised and supported. In accordance with this initiative, last week an agreement and recommendation was signed by the Tešanj Health Center and the Tešanj General Hospital, which means that students of this program will carry out their practical and professional work in our institution - states Mudrov.

The ECG, defibrillators, and therapeutic ultrasounds have been verified, and a certificate of verification and functionality of all mentioned devices has been issued.

- We are one of the few health centers that has met all requirements and received verification for all devices.

Visit to Bosnalijek marked the Day of the Tešanj Health Center

To ensure the best health protection, external associates and specialists, such as urologists, cardiologists, and orthopedists, are regularly engaged.

- We have received several recognitions and commendations for our work in the local community. Namely, in the past 6 months, we have received letters of gratitude from 3 sports associations/organizations in our area. The cantonal minister of health, the director of the Health Insurance Fund of Zenica-Doboj Canton, and the director of the Public Health Institute of Zenica-Doboj Canton visited us for the second time, and they did not hide their enthusiasm for the organization and work of our institution - says Mudrov.

The institution's staff visited the pharmaceutical company "Bosnalijek" Sarajevo and marked October 30th - the Day of the Institution in an appropriate manner.

- We have an exceptional cooperation with many business entities in our local community, and we are constantly working on this cooperation, because we want to be a professional, quality, and reliable partner for them - says Mudrov.

These are just some of the activities undertaken in the past period to ensure the satisfaction of their users and employees, and to ensure the highest quality provision of health services. 

Director Mudrov states that they will continue to work at the same pace in the future, as they want to fully realize and achieve their vision.
