The Executive Director of the Investment Fund from Dubai will arrive in Sarajevo tomorrow, it was unofficially confirmed to the Patria agency from the Government of Sarajevo Canton.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani and the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Elmedin Konaković signed a Memorandum of Understanding a little over a month ago. The Memorandum did not specify projects, but it stated that it obliges cooperation between the Fund and the Government.
It was already mentioned at the time that the potential investor from Dubai is, among other things, interested in investing in Skenderija.
"The KS Government has been promoting space for foreign investments for 17 months. We have attracted the interest of a serious investor who is already working in BiH, and our focus in the coming period will be the entire Skenderija area. A detailed analysis of their condition in the next 12-15 months and the entire area from the aspect of spatial planning documentation and investment space will follow," Prime Minister Konaković told reporters at the time.
The owner of the copyrights for Skenderija, Džan Karajica, stated in the meantime that no one had contacted him regarding investments in Skenderija. Any change to the appearance of Skenderija without his consent would be a violation of the Copyright Law, he says.
