DIPLOMATIC SOURCES Čović in Brussels again on the Election Law and the danger of creating an Islamic state!

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Chairman of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament and HDZ leader Dragan Čović, who is staying in Brussels, has expressed optimism regarding amendments to the Election Law according to the HDZ model.

He also expressed his conviction that the most important issues for the Election Law will be attempted to be harmonized by the third month.

It has been known for a long time that the HDZ's proposals regarding the Election Law completely deviate from the measures and recommendations from the European Commission's Opinion, which is why it is unusual for Čović to express optimism regarding BiH obtaining candidate status for EU membership, given that precisely the HDZ's proposals when it comes to the election law, grossly undermine BiH's candidate perspective.

What is particularly interesting is that Čović, in separate meetings in Brussels, according to information obtained by the Patria agency from diplomatic circles, parallel to the story about amending the Election Law according to the HDZ model, again spoke about the attempt to create an Islamic state in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We remind you that this is not the first time that the HDZ leader has spoken in Brussels, in the context of demands for amending the Election Law, about the alleged danger of Bosniak dominance and the danger of creating an alleged Islamic state.

In February 2018, Čović publicly "praised" this at a forum in Zagreb, saying:

"I say very clearly and openly, and I said the other day in Brussels, that the attempt to create a civic BiH is pure unitarism and the desire of the Bosniak majority for domination over other peoples, especially in the Federation of BiH.

I spoke clearly and would repeat it in front of Erdogan and everyone that a civic and unitary BiH is the same as an Islamic state of BiH," Čović said.
