Section of Corridor 5C Klopče - Donja Gračanica to cost 50 million euros and take 2.5 years to build

Construction of approximately 6 km of new motorway on Corridor 5C, on the Klopče - Donja Gračanica route near Zenica, is about to begin, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Federal Minister of Spatial Planning Josip Martić signed the approval for the construction of this subsection, thereby creating the final condition for the continuation of the construction of new kilometres of the Bosnian motorway.

Martić said that this is one of the most demanding sections, featuring several bridges, viaducts and underpasses, but Bosnian builders have proven they are ready for even the greatest challenges in road construction. 

- We are convinced that this largest infrastructure project in our country will bring new employment for domestic builders – said Minister Martić.
 
The Zenica north – Zenica south section has a total length of ten kilometres. And on the Klopče – Donja Gračanica subsection, where work is to begin, there are four viaducts, two tunnels and one rest area. This is a subsection that passes through very difficult terrain.
 
Funds in the amount of about 50 million euros for the construction of this section have been secured from the OFID Fund for International Development. The deadline for the completion of the construction of this section is 30 months.
