Part of Agrokomerc under mortgage: Adnan Terzić and Amir Avdić took 2 million KM loan from Bobar Bank?

Former heads of the construction company Grupex from Velika Kladuša took a loan of 2 million KM from Bobar Bank in Banja Luka, and pledged part of the neighboring company Agrokomerc's assets as collateral, the Patria News Agency has revealed.

The documents were most likely forged and then submitted to the bank. The possibility that the suspicious loan was granted with the help of some people from the bank is not excluded, which an investigation could reveal.

The irregularities were discovered a little over a year ago. The case was handed over to the Cantonal Court in Bihać, but the investigation has not progressed much. Some former and current high-ranking officials of the Party of Democratic Action are involved in the entire case.

At the time when Grupex took the disputed loan, at the beginning of 2014, the company was managed by former Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Adnan Terzić and former Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton Amir Avdić. Terzić controlled Grupex as the director of GP Put, which was the majority owner of Grupex at that time, and Avdić as a member of Grupex's Supervisory Board.

Both of them still hold high positions in public companies and institutions today. Terzić is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Elektroprivreda BiH, and Avdić is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Development Bank of FBiH. Terzić and Avdić soon sold the majority stake in Grupex to the company Mujan Finance from Sarajevo after taking out the controversial loan.

Today, Grupex is struggling, just as Bobar Bank has struggled. However, the debts remain. The bank is claiming part of Agrokomerc's assets that are mortgaged to this bank. The new owner of Grupex is also claiming the same assets.

Agrokomerc explains that Terzić and Avdić bought Grupex's assets from a partnership group a few years ago. Shortly after, they took out a suspicious loan, and then sold the company's shares again. No one suspected that they had pledged someone else's property for the loan.

Due to Bobar Bank's claims on this mortgage, the business of one of the most promising companies in Velika Kladuša, Airventa, whose owners are Austrians and which exports 360 trucks of ventilation equipment to European Union countries annually, has been jeopardized.

The production facilities of this company are located precisely in Agrokomerc's halls, which Terzić and Avdić mortgaged to Bobar Bank.

Airventa Director Nermin Alešević told NAP that 11 years ago he signed a contract with Agrokomerc to rent more than 2,000 square meters of business space, but that Bobar Bank suddenly appeared claiming these properties. Because of Terzić and Avdić's loan. That's when he first learned about the loan and mortgage fraud, NAP writes.
