Dino Mustafić wins Grand Prix at festival in Tirana

TIRANA, (Patria) - BiH director Dino Mustafić won the Grand Prix award at the Pan-Albanian Festival with his play Danton's Death, held from September 23 to 30 in Tirana.

Mustafić created the play with the Albanian National Theatre from Skopje, and it premiered in May. The play quickly garnered excellent reviews from the audience, and the award in Tirana is its first festival award.

- It is an honor to receive an award for a play that brings together the best theatrical productions in the Albanian language. Theatre does not have answers, but it has the ability to ask essential questions.

The economic crisis is not subsiding, social injustices are the modus vivendi for the majority - neoliberal capitalism ruthlessly tramples our existence, leaving us no way out, the terror of the media beheads the undesirable, but radical social change is nowhere in sight. With this play, we asked the question: is revolution even possible today? - said Dino Mustafić after winning the award.

It should be noted that after a 20-year hiatus, the largest festival featuring theatres performing plays in the Albanian language has been revived.

Over its eight-day duration, the festival brought together 14 Albanian theatres from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, and Montenegro.
