Dino Mustafić Best Director at FIAT Festival in Podgorica

PODGORICA, (Patria) - One of the leading directors in the region, Dino Mustafić, received the award for best director at the 33rd Festival of International Alternative Theatre (FIAT) 2018 in Podgorica by unanimous decision of the jury.

The Bosnian director received the award for the play “Mother and Child” produced by M.A.M. Foundation of Contemporary Art from Tirana.

- The award for best director: the jury unanimously awards it to director Dino Mustafić for the play “Mother and Child” produced by M.A.M. Foundation of Contemporary Art from Tirana (Albania), for the integrity of an autonomous concept achieved with minimal means and rich directorial imagination. The storm of emotions born in the mother-son relationship, with precise and effective mise-en-scène solutions, makes the directorial aesthetic avant-garde - it was stated in the jury's decision.

The award for best female role was unanimously awarded by the jury to actress Ema Andrea for the role of the mother in Mustafić's play “Mother and Child”.

- With confident and strong stage, spiritual, and physical engagement, brutally and brilliantly conveying to the audience the complex and disturbing relationship between the mother, son, and the demon between them, she shows the full splendor of her acting being - the jury stated.

The jury for awarding the prizes included Sonja Vukićević, jury president, choreographer and ballerina, Žana Gardašević, actress, and Andrej Cvetanovski, director.

The festival was held from September 7 to 16, and it featured 10 plays with very convincing and diverse aesthetics, ranging from choreodrama and musical theatre to avant-garde performances and visual performances.

Along with numerous accompanying multimedia programs from film to literature, the audience welcomed all performances played on all Podgorica stages with great interest.
