Dictatorship from RS: Police search the editorial office of portal Klix.ba due to Željka Cvijanović

By order of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office in Sarajevo, police officers from the Criminal Police Sector of the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, with the support of members of the Service for Combating Organized Crime and Corruption of the Criminal Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior of RS, conducted today a search of the premises of the company D.O.O.„Intersoft“ Sarajevo, which is used by „Klix.ba“ in Sarajevo. The search is being conducted due to reasonable suspicion that a criminal offense under Article 174, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of RS has been committed, announced the Ministry of Interior of RS, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Namely, the editorial office of Klix.ba has been searched since 8:45 AM this morning by police, and the computers used by the portal's journalists are being searched. We recall that after Klix.ba published a recording of RS Prime Minister Željka Cvijanović about the purchase of deputies in the NSRS on November 15, the owner and editor-in-chief were invited for an informational interview in Banja Luka.

Today's search followed. The Ministry of Interior of RS thus accuses Klix.ba of having committed the following act:

Whoever, using special devices, unlawfully eavesdrops on or records a conversation or statement not intended for them, or enables an unknown person to become acquainted with a conversation or statement that was unlawfully eavesdropped on or recorded, shall be punished by a fine or imprisonment of up to one year.

The penalty from paragraph 1 of this article shall also apply to whoever records a statement intended for them, without the knowledge and consent of the person giving it, with the intention of abusing such a statement, or enables an unauthorized person to become acquainted with such a statement.

If the act from paragraphs 1 and 2 of this article is committed by an official in the performance of their duties, they shall be punished by imprisonment of up to three years.
