DF sought sanctions for directors who do not pay pension contributions to workers, authorities rejected the proposal

The House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has refused to recommend that the Federal Prosecutor's Office focus on investigative proceedings in cases of non-payment of pension and disability insurance contributions. The initiative was submitted by Davor Vuletić, a DF representative, in December last year, Patria reports.

From DF, they explain that this initiative aimed to secure full political support from the Parliament of the Federation for sanctioning all former and current directors and members of management bodies of public institutions, public enterprises, and companies in which the Federation of BiH has a majority ownership, because in recent years they have tolerated salary payments without contributions.

- This practice represents an abuse of position by authorized persons and a potential criminal offense because it involves millions in damages to the Federation incurred over the past 15 years – the DF statement says.

- Unfortunately, those who have plunged the workers of this country into darkness have no intention of sanctioning those responsible from the political elites who appointed them to positions in public enterprises. DF is outraged by the rejection of this initiative because it will further diminish citizens' trust in institutions, leaving those responsible without sanctions, but they will continue to fight for the interests of the citizens of this country whose basic rights are threatened – the DF statement reads.
