Democratic Front Mostar strongly condemns the planned concert in support of convicted war criminals and high-ranking officials of the so-called Herceg-Bosna in Mostar.
For the umpteenth time, the DF announced, Mostar residents must tolerate fascism in their city and be reminded of the painful memories of the destruction of their Mostar and the killing of their loved ones.
- We hereby directly appeal to the Mayor of Mostar, Ljubo Bešlić, and the member of the Presidency of BiH from the Croat people, Dragan Čović, not to allow a rally in support of war criminals to be held. The announced concert raises doubts among all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina about the much-mentioned European values and the European path of BiH – stated the DF Mostar.
- Europe does not rest on the ideologies of fascism and crime, but is the cradle of anti-fascism and respect for all citizens regardless of their differences. With such and similar activities in one part of Mostar, the peoples and citizens living in it are heading towards deep disintegration. We hope that in Mostar, among citizens of all nationalities, there are enough who condemn such ideas and want to live in a peaceful Mostar – the reaction further states.
The association "Hrvatsko srce nade" (Croatian Heart of Hope) from Mostar announced a large rally in support of Croatian Hague indictees, which is scheduled to be held on June 8 at the city stadium under Bijeli Brijeg, and which might feature Marko Perković Thompson.
The concert is conceived as a rally of support for six high-ranking officials of the so-called Herceg-Bosna: Jadranka Prlić, Bruno Stojić, Slobodan Praljak, Milivoj Petković, Valentin Ćorić, and Berislav Pušić, who in 2013, due to the indictment for a joint criminal enterprise and crimes against the Bosniak population in the period from 1992 to 1994, were initially sentenced to a total of 111 years in prison, writes NAP.
