DF welcomes "Positions on the Civic Concept of a Democratic State of BiH" by Krug 99

(Patria) - The Democratic Front welcomes the efforts of the intellectual and academic community in Bosnia and Herzegovina to actively engage in reflections on the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which should not be exclusively the subject of consideration by holders of ethno-political legitimacy. The future of our common country depends on respecting the views of those who place individual rights and freedoms above collective rights.

We in the DF also believe that international standards for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms, as civilizational achievements, are the only guarantee for the realization of individual rights and freedoms, not through collective rights. The history of our society has taught us that collectivities in Bosnia and Herzegovina unfortunately tend to discriminate against all those who do not belong to them.

Therefore, we also welcome the "Positions on the Civic Concept of a Democratic State of BiH" published by Krug 99. The priority of the DF as a political party is precisely the political struggle to prevent endeavors that make "Bosnia and Herzegovina a dysfunctional state, a politically segregated society, and legally discriminated individuals in different parts of the country..."

In our political struggle, we do not count on the three or four pillars created by ethno-legitimized collectivities, but precisely on "three million small equal pillars, consisting of three million citizens of this country, with equality in all their rights, including political ones," as stated by Krug 99. We continue to call on the academic and intellectual community in BiH to actively engage in the struggle for a functional and civic Bosnia and Herzegovina, based on true civilizational values that can enable our further path towards integration into the EU and NATO, it was announced from the DF.
