DF: Čović admitted NATO is not his interest

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - We in the Democratic Front believe that yesterday's stance by HDZ president Dragan Čović, that two members of the BiH Presidency are conditioning the third and thus trying to push through their interests to give consent for the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, is final proof that NATO integration is not in the interest of HDZ BiH, DF announced. 

- Mr. Čović publicly admitted yesterday that, unlike the two members of the BiH Presidency, NATO integration is not in his interest nor in the interest of HDZ policy. With this move, Čović has once again not only sided with Milorad Dodik, but also explicitly stated that he supports the blockade of NATO integration by his pro-Russian partner Milorad Dodik.

DF wishes to remind that with this act, the HDZ leader has definitively trampled the BiH Foreign Policy Strategy which he signed during his term in the BiH Presidency, the formal request for the Membership Action Plan (NATO MAP), and that he has openly called for a violation of Article 84 of the BiH Law on Defense.

We in the Democratic Front also believe that two key worldview coalitions have been profiled in Bosnia and Herzegovina; a NATO and an anti-NATO coalition. There is no doubt that at this moment, the united anti-NATO coalition consists of SNSD and HDZ. The policy of HDZ BiH is, beyond any reasonable doubt, directed against the NATO integration process. It has lost all form of autonomous action in relation to SNSD and at this moment represents Dodik's blackmail mechanism and a means of blocking Euro-Atlantic integration.
