Right-wingers came to the opening of the exhibition 'Soul of Srebrenica', chanting for Ratko Mladić

(Patria) - Police tonight prevented a group of demonstrators who, chanting for war criminal Ratko Mladić, tried to disrupt the opening of the photo exhibition "Soul of Srebrenica" by multiple award-winning Sarajevo author Midhat Poturović at the Enzio hab gallery in the center of Belgrade, and the entrance to the street where the gallery is located was blocked.

Police blocked the approaches to Dobračina Street from Vasina and Braće Jugovića Streets, where a few young men initially gathered, responding to the call of right-wing organizations on social networks to gather tonight in front of the venue where the exhibition is being held.

They later tried to approach Enzio hab from Vasina Street, but the police stopped them there as well. In addition to chanting for Mladić, who was legally sentenced to life imprisonment in The Hague, for genocide in Srebrenica among other crimes, the gathered young men also chanted "Srebrenica is not genocide" and insults against President Aleksandar Vučić.

Three young men who tried to enter the exhibition before it was officially opened were identified by the police, and they then joined the group that chanted for two hours, led by the leader of the People's Patrol, Damnjan Knežević.

Apart from the provocative chanting, there were no incidents.

At the same time, a few female citizens gathered in front of the gallery itself in Dobračina, protesting against the holding of the exhibition.
