Tens of thousands of Israelis demand Netanyahu's resignation, accusing him of not doing enough for hostages

(Patria) - Several thousand demonstrators in Tel Aviv called for the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing his government of not doing enough to bring home the hostages still held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

The protest was held ahead of the marking of 100 days since the start of the war in Gaza.

During a ceasefire in November, 105 hostages were released in exchange for 240 Palestinian prisoners, but there have been few signs of hope for the families of those held captive since then, Hina reports.

Nearly 24,000 Palestinians have been killed in Israel's campaign to eliminate Hamas from Gaza, according to health authorities controlled by Hamas. Netanyahu's popularity has fallen since October 7, and the Israeli public has accused him of not adequately preparing security forces for such an attack.

People also took to the streets to protest against Netanyahu in other Israeli cities in the evening, including in Haifa and Caesarea, according to Israeli media reports.
