Protesters Seek Incident with Verbal Attacks on Passersby

A well-known Sarajevo businessman (name known to the editorial board) contacted the Patria News Agency (NAP) and said that he had already been verbally attacked twice by participants of protests and plenums near Sarajevo's Skenderija.

However, as we learn, this businessman is not the only one who has sought help from the police and their protection due to verbal attacks. As he told us, when he reported the incident to the police, he learned from them that in this way the protesters are seeking an incident and attacking public figures in the hope that someone will retaliate and lead to larger incidents.

"Several participants insulted me, cursed at me, said derogatory words to me, and I had the feeling that if I said anything and responded, it would lead to a physical confrontation," said our source.

In the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS), several people have reported similar problems. According to unofficial information, a group of Sarajevo citizens is preparing to file criminal charges against Suad Zeljković, former Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Vahid Ćosić, Commissioner of MUP KS, Nermin Pećanac, Minister of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton, and Denis Zvizdić, President of the SDA Election Committee, for keeping the entire city under blockade.

"They did nothing to prevent the blockade. The protests were not even announced, and it is clear that there is no will or courage to do what the law requires," said our source.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior of the Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS), Irfan Nefić, also told Anadolu that several people have filed criminal charges against unknown persons for endangering freedom of movement.

We remind that NAP yesterday also received confirmation from the Emergency Medical Service of the Sarajevo Canton that they are working under difficult conditions and that response times are extended because vehicles have to circle around the city.
