(Patria) - The Democratic Party believes that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is avoiding a debate with US Vice President Kamala Harris.
The convicted criminal is afraid of the debate, said the Democratic Party, Reuters reports.
Trump proved to be the winner of the June 27 debate with current US President Joseph Biden.
It was agreed that the next debate would be held on September 10, but Biden withdrew from the presidential race on July 21 and supported Kamala Harris's candidacy.
On July 25, Trump stated that he did not want to debate Kamala Harris because she is not the official presidential candidate.
- I can participate in a debate with her, but I am not obligated - Trump said at the time.
And yesterday he said that he does not need a debate because he has an advantage based on public opinion polls, which know his and Harris's positions.
- Why should I participate in a debate? I am leading in the polls and everyone knows her and they know me - Trump added.
