Democrats End Congress Shutdown, Awaiting Trump's Green Light

WASHINGTON, (Patria) - The new Democratic majority in the U.S. House of Representatives has passed two measures to end the government shutdown.

However, according to U.S. media, this will not receive the green light from U.S. President Donald Trump.

Without Trump's support, who demands a wall on the Mexican border, the measures passed on Thursday in the House of Representatives may not pass the Senate either.

The House of Representatives has approved two temporary funding bills that would allow the reopening of parts of the administration, while leaving time for a compromise on illegal immigration control.

However, the White House strongly opposes these measures because they do not fund the construction of the wall, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said that chamber of Congress will not vote on this bill.

The partial shutdown of federal agencies in the U.S. has been ongoing since December 22.

We remind you that the U.S. Congress yesterday began its first session in the new term following the parliamentary elections.
