Delimustafić and Škrijelj unavailable to Bosnian judiciary, Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo seeks issuance of arrest warrants!

The Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo has been informed that the Judicial Police did not find the suspects Alija Delimustafić and Jusuf Škrijelj at their addresses today after the Cantonal Court ordered their two-month detention, confirmed for Patria by the spokesperson of the Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo, Azra Bavčić.

- What we pointed out at the moment when the Court decided to release them has happened. This means they are unavailable to the prosecution authorities. The Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo will immediately propose to the court the issuance of an internal and international arrest warrant - said Bavčić.

The Judicial Police brought Lejla Cerić and Suada Hadžić into custody, whose detention was extended by two months.

The Cantonal Court of Sarajevo extended the detention by two months for the former Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Delimustafić, as well as Jusuf Škrijelj, Suada Hadžić, and Lejla Cerić, who were arrested in the operation "Justice".

We remind that on December 9, the Council of the Cantonal Court lifted the detention for the four suspects, and the Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo filed an appeal with the Supreme Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which returned the case to the Cantonal Court for a decision, which then ordered a two-month detention. 

The Prosecutor's Office suspects Delimustafić and the others of belonging to an organized criminal group that illegally registered and conducted real estate transactions in the area of Canton Sarajevo. In addition to Delimustafić, 19 people were arrested in this operation, and according to the Prosecutor's Office, the investigation into these acts is being conducted against several dozen individuals.

The Cantonal Court previously extended the detention for another two months for Izet Musić, Mirsad Delimustafić, and Zoran Lončar, while an arrest warrant was issued for the former judge of the Sarajevo Municipal Court, Lejla Fazlagić. The Prosecutor's Office recently submitted a proposal to the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina to send a request to Croatia for her extradition.

The Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Canton Sarajevo stated in a response on December 12 that the Court's decision to lift the detention was unfounded and not based on the law. The Prosecutor's Office then announced that if left free, the suspects Alija Delimustafić and Jusuf Škrijelj could become unavailable to the prosecution authorities, just as the suspect Lejla Fazlagić remains unavailable to the prosecution authorities. And exactly what they warned about has happened.
