Delegates of the Federal Parliament on the 2016 Budget

The session of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for today in Sarajevo, will also include the proposal of the FBiH Budget for 2016, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria.
The FBiH Budget for the next year amounts to just over 2.5 billion KM. More than one billion will be spent on FBiH debts, while nearly one billion is needed for current expenses.
The opposition criticizes the authorities for not directing even the little money that remains towards the right purposes.

The Social Democratic Party (SDP BiH) will seek today, through amendments, for the Government to include in the FBiH Budget Proposal for 2016 funds for the implementation of the Law on Suppression of Corruption and Organized Crime in FBiH.

From the SDP, they remind that the Government, for unknown reasons, did not spend a single mark of the 3.5 million KM allocated for financing obligations under the mentioned law during 2015. Therefore, this party believes it is high time that in 2016, full implementation of this extremely important law begins, which represents a key legal solution aimed at accelerated and efficient fight against corruption and organized crime, writes NAP.

Interestingly, the House of Peoples discusses the FBiH Budget Proposal first, and only five days later will the Proposal be before the House of Representatives. Analysts assess that the ruling coalition, consisting of SDA, HDZ BiH, and SBB, fears that the FBiH Budget Proposal for 2016 could fail in the House of Peoples due to the narrow majority they hold in this house.
The budget proposal that will be before the delegates today is considered a test proposal. Because, if the proposal does not pass this house today, after being voted on in the House of Representatives next week, it will return to the House of Peoples, by which time the ruling coalition will secure the necessary 28 votes, writes NAP.
