EU delegation visited Bosnian company Klas

An EU delegation, composed of political and economic advisors from EU member state embassies, visited the headquarters of the Bosnian food industry company Klas d.d. Sarajevo. During the visit, a presentation of the company was organized, as well as a tour of Klas's production facilities, mill, and large bakery, after which the guests from the EU had a meeting with Klas's management, it was announced from Klas, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Lower labor taxes, reforms of labor laws and regulations, simpler administrative procedures, restructuring of old companies, combating corruption, and a fairer distribution of social benefits were the topics discussed by the political and economic advisors of the European Union in BiH and representatives of the company Klas d.d. Sarajevo. These six priority reform measures are included in the BiH Growth and Employment Agreement, adopted by the European Union with the aim of assisting the BiH economy.

Ole Hammer, political advisor for the EU in BiH, stated that the EU is greatly interested in the socio-economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- That is why we decided to visit a successful BiH company that should be an example to many, so we look forward to further cooperation. We have seen firsthand an example of a successful company, but we are also ready to hear how we from the European Union can help companies from BiH, such as Klas, to progress further. In this regard, together with BiH entrepreneurs, we have defined a package of 6 measures for growth and employment, which is further supported by international financial institutions so that the program can be successfully implemented financially and technically - said Hammer.

Extending words of welcome, the director of the company Klas d.d. Sarajevo, Rusmir Hrvić, emphasized that Klas views this visit as a sign of support, respect, and in a way, recognition for this BiH company.

- A little over half a year ago, it was questionable whether Klas would survive at all, and the future of the brand and its employees was extremely uncertain. Today, we are in a position to talk about the company's successes in both domestic and foreign markets, and new employments at Klas. As you know, a little over half a year ago, AS GROUP successfully acquired Klas d.d. Sarajevo, and we believe, and will prove, that this has created the conditions for the development of the entire food industry in BiH on better and stronger foundations. Of course, we already have, but we will have even more to offer the EU market, because behind the Klas brand lies 112 years of quality and competence in producing pure and healthy Bosnian food made with love - said Director Hrvić, among other things, in his welcoming speech to the EU delegation.
