SARAJEVO, (Patria) - "The adoption of the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices in Republika Srpska is a step towards jeopardizing legal certainty and the single economic space in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with future negative consequences for economic entities and citizens of RS, as well as further distancing BiH from harmonization with the EU acquis. We call on the political leaders of RS to reject provocative actions and rhetoric, including questioning the existence and functioning of institutions at the BiH level, and to work together on the priority of overcoming stagnation and refocusing on reforms, which will enable Bosnia and Herzegovina to progress on its European path," Ferdinand Koenig, spokesperson for the Delegation of the European Union and the Office of the European Union Special Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, told Patria.
"We are ready to help in a constructive dialogue between the parties on our part," stated the EU Delegation.
To the question of whether the EU or the EU Delegation will take any sanctions against the authorities in RS who yesterday adopted the Law on Medicines and Medical Devices, which directly violated the established system of the state Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH, we did not receive a precise answer.
The EC report on BiH is clear, any progress and reforms in BiH have been halted. Such authorities are no longer credible for any reforms, especially if they directly work against the well-being of citizens, writes Patria.
