Dedić saves wheat production with 50 liters of fuel per hectare of arable land

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Šemsudin Dedić visited sown wheat fields and flour producers in Odžak.

During this visit, Minister Dedić discussed with representatives of the milling industry the increased demand for flour on the domestic market, and also received assurances that the quantities held by these mills are sufficient until the new harvest.

Minister Dedić emphasized that the Government of the Federation of BiH has already taken steps to help agricultural producers at the beginning of this year.

- At the last session of the Government of the Federation of BiH, we tasked the Federal Commodity Reserves Directorate to prepare a decision to allocate 50 liters of fuel per hectare of arable land to each agricultural producer. The budget for agriculture has been increased by 19 million KM compared to last year, with the aim of greater support for agricultural producers. In addition to the amount of funds, the operability of the Program of financial support in agriculture and rural development and the dynamics of fund disbursement, which depends on the FBiH Budget for 2022, the adoption of which we expect as soon as possible, are important to farmers - said Minister Dedić.

Jure Kopačević, a wheat and flour producer from Odžak, expressed his satisfaction that the federal minister of agriculture visited his farm.

- It is an honor to host the federal minister of agriculture, and we also thank him for his work so far and the regular payment of incentive funds last year. I think the minister will continue to fight for us farmers, who promise to stay in our country, because without villages and agriculture, there is no survival - said Kopačević.

Mlin-Majić company is one of the largest flour producers in our country, and thanks to continuous investments in production modernization, they have a total production capacity of 300 tons per day.

During the visit to this company, the director of the Federal Commodity Reserves Directorate, Tončo Bavrka, was also with Minister Dedić.
