Police officers and 10 vehicles with special forces unblocked traffic at the Bijača border crossing today, where veterans were protesting, TV1 reported. Several individuals were detained and criminal charges will be filed against them.
The police initially removed media representatives from the gathered members of the association "Forgotten Veterans", who had blocked the Bijača border crossing today.
After that, they started moving their cars with which they had blocked the road, but a group of them remained on the road.
Shortly thereafter, one lane of the road was cleared for traffic, the police continued to negotiate with the veterans, and soon the blockade of the Bijača border crossing was officially ended after negotiations.
This was confirmed by the spokesperson of the BiH Border Police, Sanela Dujković, stating that traffic on the road communication towards MGP Bijača was unblocked today at 5:40 PM.
We remind you that the veterans demand that the Federal Parliament adopt a resolution on veterans, but this document was not on the agenda of the House of Representatives session today. 30 MPs voted for its inclusion on the agenda, 38 abstained, while seven voted against.
On the other hand, the veterans insist that the resolution be adopted. Otherwise, as they announced during the day, they will block all freight border crossings in the Federation, from Orašje, Izačić, Kamensko, Gorice, Vinjani, and Bijača.
