Daviddi: We will carefully monitor the investigation into the attack on Bosniak returnees in Čitluk

The Chargé d'Affaires of the European Union Delegation to BiH, Renzo Daviddi, today expressed regret over the attack on the property of Bosniak returnees in Donji Hamzići near Čitluk, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

- The European Union strongly condemns any act of violence, especially those targeting vulnerable groups such as returnees. Returnees have the right to feel safe in their homes, villages and towns, which must be ensured and respected. We call on the competent law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation and arrest the perpetrators. We will carefully monitor developments on this matter.

The attack itself points to the necessity of further efforts to overcome hatred and re-establish mutual respect among communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina - said Daviddi.
