(Patria) - Paris has immortalized former British music star David Bowie.
The capital of France named one of its streets after him yesterday, on the day he would have turned 77.
The naming of the street after the music star was announced back in 2020, and it was done by the mayor of the 13th arrondissement of Paris, Jerome Coumet, in memory of Bowie, who died of cancer in 2016.
The inauguration of the new street was accompanied by a concert and exhibition, which recalled Bowie's first concert in Paris in 1965, which was also his first concert outside the United Kingdom.
Bowie is considered one of the most influential and best-selling musicians of the 20th century, largely due to his unparalleled ability to artistically reinvent himself throughout his career, which took off with the hit single "Space Oddity" in 1969.
