Darko Ćulum officially appointed Director of RS Police

The current Director of the Republic of Srpska Police, Gojko Vasić, handed over his duties today to the newly appointed Director, Darko Ćulum, it was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of RS, reports Patria.

Vasić is retiring, and Ćulum has taken his place. At the beginning of August, members of the Independent Board of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska for the election of the Director of the RS Police held interviews with Darko Ćulum and Dragan Prodanović, candidates who met the requirements of the competition for the new director of the entity police.

The Board unanimously decided that Darko Ćulum would be proposed as the new director of the entity police, and this was confirmed by the Government of RS.

Ćulum's biography states that he performed the duties of a police officer and inspector in all lines of work; from April 1999 – Head of the Group for Combating Serious Theft; from October 2003 – Head of the Department for Combating Organized Crime; from March 2006 – Head of the Criminal Police Sector of the Banja Luka Security Services Center; from January 2010 – Head of the Banja Luka Security Services Center; from February 2012 – Head of the Police Directorate, and from February 2015, he performed the duties of Deputy Director of Police.

Gojko Vasić has been performing the duties of the Director of the Republic of Srpska Police since July 2010, writes Patria.
