(Patria) - Edita Đapo, President of the Coordination Board for Economic Stabilization and Remediation of Consequences of the Coronavirus Pandemic and Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism, said that the FBiH Government is aware of the situation caused by the pandemic in BiH.
“BiH has a small and open economy and now we are left to ourselves. You should be proud of everything the FBiH Government has done, of our crisis headquarters that have adopted good measures. We want to find ways to help every individual, worker, and private business owner,” stated Đapo.
She announced that the FBiH Government intends to establish a guarantee and stabilization fund.
The FBiH crisis headquarters estimates that 250 million KM could be raised through the budget rebalance, and the second part would consist of funds from the International Monetary Fund.
“The pandemic has affected the entire world and represents an economic threat. Everything has stopped, borders are closed, and we will have to face this for several months. BiH has a small and open economy and we are left to ourselves. Our Central Bank of BiH operates on the principle of a currency board.
We will have to rebalance the budget and cut all non-essential costs for this year. We have twice as many tests per capita as some larger countries like Great Britain,” said Đapo.
