(Patria) - Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen on Wednesday, after talks in the White House, promised to oppose US President Donald Trump's plan to take control of Greenland, AFP reported last night.
Lokke said that it is "absolutely not necessary" for the United States to annex Greenland.
"We did not manage to change the American stance," he said.
"It is clear that the president has a desire to conquer Greenland. And we have made it very, very clear that this is not in the interest of the Kingdom."
Lokke called on Washington to engage in "polite" cooperation regarding the Arctic island controlled by Copenhagen.
