Danish police confirmed: Meša Hodžić had no connection to ISIL

Danish police confirmed that there is no evidence that last week's armed attack in Christiania, a suburb of Copenhagen, is linked to the Islamic State, writes 'Copenhagen Post', reports the Patria News Agency.  

Meša Hodžić (25), originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina, was killed after an exchange of fire with the police. One police officer was seriously injured. Some agencies claimed that Meša Hodžić was allegedly an "Islamic State soldier".

However, on Sunday in Copenhagen, police officer Michael Anderson stated that there was no evidence that the "attack was ordered by the Islamic State". Hodžić died in the city hospital after being wounded. He was a Danish citizen. He fled at the age of four with his parents from the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He was already known to the police, as he ran a cannabis shop on Pusher Street in Christiania. In 2010, he was in custody with his father for attempted murder.
