SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Danish media reported on Sunday about a magical night, a day after tens of thousands of people attended a rock concert in Copenhagen, the first such event at a full stadium in Europe since the pandemic, say organizers.
After Denmark lifted its last epidemiological restrictions two days ago, around 50,000 people were able to attend a concert by the rock band The Minds of 99 at Parken Stadium on Saturday.
Since Friday, Danes no longer have to show a so-called COVID pass, which proves that a person has been vaccinated, recovered, or tested negative for COVID-19, for large events such as concerts, football matches, or for entry into nightclubs, which have just reopened.
Local media declared the event "historic".
"There was magic in the air, and goosebumps on the skin," wrote the newspaper Ekstra Bladet, referring to the euphoric atmosphere at the concert after months of restrictions on social gatherings.
"It is clear that people missed socializing at a good concert. The mood is absolutely fantastic," wrote a journalist from the mentioned newspaper who reported from the event.
Before the concert, all unvaccinated visitors could get vaccinated near the stadium, as announced by the government.
Vaccination points will be set up before every major concert and similar event in the future to encourage, especially young people, to get vaccinated, the Ministry of Culture announced.
So far, over 83 percent of Danes over 12 years old have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Denmark has organized other large-scale events this summer, and between 15,000 and 24,000 people attended four matches of the European Football Championship in Copenhagen in June.
