Large ecological action on Trebević today

(Patria) - The ecological cleaning action "Let's join hands - let's clean Trebević" will be held today, October 20.

The cleaning action is organized by the Peacebuilding Network and the initiative Prljavi grad Sarajevo (Dirty City Sarajevo), in partnership with the Association of American Embassy Employees, as well as the American Embassy's 'Green Team', the Sarajevo Mountain Rescue Association, the 'Let’s do it' movement, Let’s Do It Bosnia and Herzegovina, Trash Challenge – Sarajevo, the Odliv mozgova (Brain Drain) group, the Youth Association "Motus Adulescenti" East Sarajevo and KP 'RAD', with the support of KJKP GRAS Sarajevo and the Ministry of Transport of Sarajevo Canton.

The organizers state that Trebević, due to its position and natural wealth, is one of the most popular picnic spots in the vicinity of Sarajevo. Surrounded by dense pine forest, Trebević in its untouched nature is an ideal destination for rest and relaxation.

The Peacebuilding Network notes that enjoying the riches of Trebević is especially relevant during the winter days when Trebević represents one of the few oases of clean air.

- Unfortunately, due to the large number of visitors and the lack of proper waste disposal methods, Trebević is overflowing with waste that walkers throw away improperly. The cleaning action "Let's join hands - let's clean Trebević" is an opportunity to awaken ecological awareness among the citizens of BiH and a common spirit that we are all responsible partners in preserving nature - the statement said.

Gathering and departure are planned for 09:00 in front of the National Museum, and gathering on Trebević is at 10:00.

The preparation and inspection of the terrain were carried out by the competent services seven days before the action itself, and thus will ensure that the places to be cleaned are safe even for the youngest - announced the Peacebuilding Network, and invited all interested parties to spend the October Sunday enjoying the natural wealth, and preserving and maintaining the beauty of Trebević.
