Dalida Burzić to judge organized crime, economic crime, and corruption cases

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - On February 14, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council appointed Dalida Burzić as a judge of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Out of the 15 members of the HJPC, ten voted for her appointment, and two against.

The Memic family still considers the new judge Burzić most responsible for the fact that three years after the death of Dženan Memic, the truth about the circumstances in which this young man died has not been established, nor have the perpetrators been brought to justice.

As visible on the Court of BiH website, Burzić is already presiding over several judicial panels. Thus, Burzić will administer justice in the cases of Slobodan Urošević, as well as in the case of Jasmin Selimagić and others. Burzić also presides over the judicial panel in the case of Husejin Selman and others.

All cases are from Department II, which is responsible for organized crime, economic crime, and corruption within the Criminal and Appellate Departments.

The media have linked Burzić to politics on several occasions. None of that has been proven, but it has never been refuted either. Since 2014, when Burzić headed the Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office, several indictments have been dropped, and some have never even been opened.
