Cvijanović proposes Trump for Nobel Peace Prize nomination

(Patria) - Member of the Presidency of BiH Željka Cvijanović will request at the next session of that body that the nomination of US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize be sent to the Nobel Prize Committee.

As Cvijanović explained in a post on Instagram, the US President deserved this nomination because "with his diplomatic engagement and personal authority, he achieved results that left a significant mark on international relations and significantly contributed to the stabilization of numerous world crises".

"Appreciating his efforts and achievements in the field of peace, I consider it justified and deserved that the Presidency of BiH makes a decision to nominate President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize," Cvijanović stated.



She added that Trump "contributed to the cessation of several armed conflicts and the resolution of serious security crises through proactive action".

"Among these, the peace agreement reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan, concluded in August 2025 in the White House, which marked the end of a long-standing conflict in the South Caucasus and opened the prospect of a new era of regional cooperation and security, should be highlighted," Cvijanović emphasized.

She also highlighted Trump's engagement in Asia, where, according to her, the diplomatic efforts of the US administration ended the conflict between India and Pakistan, and between Thailand and Cambodia.

Cvijanović also stated that Trump is responsible for the ceasefire in Yemen and for stopping the conflict between Rwanda and the DRC.

"Certainly, President Trump's indispensable role in efforts to achieve peace in Europe should be emphasized, with President Trump's initiative in launching a peace dialogue on Ukraine representing the most significant step towards de-escalating the armed conflict in Europe," the explanation states.

It is also emphasized that Trump's "peace initiatives and innovative approach in the Middle East, aimed at preventing wider escalation in the region through contacts with Israel, Iran, and Palestine, have contributed to strengthening the prospects for stability in one of the most challenging security areas in the world".



"Considering the above, it is clear that President Trump's diplomatic efforts have yielded visible and tangible results in various parts of the world, from Europe to Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, with his efforts significantly improving global security and stability.

In accordance with the above, I believe it is justified for the Presidency of BiH at its 25th regular session to consider the mentioned agenda item and make a decision on the official nomination of Donald Trump, President of the USA, for the Nobel Peace Prize," Cvijanović's request adds.
