Čubrilović dissatisfied, comments on ruling: They continued to implement Sarajevo's political goals

(Patria) - Nedeljko Čubrilović, President of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, said that "the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a politically motivated decision and continued the existing practice of accepting requests from political Sarajevo that are directed against the interests of the Republika Srpska".

Regarding the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which annulled the Law on Immovable Property Used for the Functioning of Public Authorities of the Republika Srpska, he said that according to the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, property belongs to the entities in a ratio of 51 percent to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 49 percent to the Republika Srpska.

"It is obvious that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with this decision, continued to implement Sarajevo's political goals directed against the Republika Srpska and its property. The essence of that policy is the complete dispossession of the Republika Srpska, the seizure of its competencies and property. The Republika Srpska and its institutions must resolutely and systematically oppose such practice," emphasized Čubrilović, as announced by the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska.

Čubrilović says that such actions by the "Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina are extremely harmful and dangerous" and that "it is clear to everyone that for some time now, an attempt has been made through the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to carry out a silent redistribution of competencies established back in 1995".

He emphasized that the request of six delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina for an assessment of the compatibility of the Law on Immovable Property Used for the Functioning of Public Authorities was completely unfounded.

He also says that the RS has the authority to enact the Law on Immovable Property Used for the Functioning of Public Authorities, i.e., that it has the authority to regulate all matters of importance for property rights, primarily issues related to "state property", and that the contested law is not contrary to either the Constitution of the Republika Srpska or the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina should have rejected the request of the delegates from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in its entirety because it is unfounded due to an erroneous and tendentious interpretation of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina," emphasized Čubrilović.
