BANJA LUKA, (Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak said today at a press conference in Banja Luka that the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov to Bosnia and Herzegovina, announced for Friday, is very important to him.
„There are special emotional ties between Republika Srpska and Russia“, said Crnadak, adding that the representatives of Republika Srpska, primarily the member of the Presidency of BiH Mladen Ivanić and himself, have, as he said, defined the position towards Russia.
„It is about not adhering to sanctions against Russia“, said Crnadak, adding that this certainly also includes the non-recognition of Kosovo by Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as BiH not joining NATO.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH said that he will hold a meeting with the Russian minister in Sarajevo, after which a press conference for the media will be held, followed by a delegation lunch in East Sarajevo.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov is expected to arrive in Bosnia and Herzegovina late on Thursday evening. He will visit Sarajevo, East Sarajevo, and Banja Luka. He will also meet with the president of the BiH entity Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.
Crnadak also said at today's press conference that he hopes that after Lavrov's visit, ties with Russia will be further strengthened.
