MONTENEGRO Prosecutor's Office opened a case regarding publications on arms procurement ahead of elections

(Patria) - The Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has opened a case regarding published transcripts in the media related to the procurement of weapons and preparation of armed resistance ahead of the parliamentary elections in 2020.

“In the further course of the proceedings, all necessary measures and actions will be taken to verify the media reports and establish all the facts, after which a decision will be made in the case,” said state prosecutor and head of this prosecutor's office, Lepa Medenica.

We recall that the M portal published today that SKY ECC allegedly revealed the connection of the Serbian Orthodox Church with members of criminal clans, as well as their joint, rather ominous, plans ahead of the parliamentary elections in Montenegro on August 30, 2020.

“Just one of a series of communications that Europol and partner security services deciphered reveals how, behind the political scenes, members of a criminal clan, clergy and persons close to them spent three summer months leading up to the elections,” writes that portal.

Earlier today, Miloš Nikolić, spokesperson and MP of the Democratic Party of Socialists in the Parliament of Montenegro, called on the Prosecutor's Office to urgently investigate media reports on the procurement of Kalashnikovs and possible planning of armed resistance for the 2020 elections.
