COVID-19: Bosanska Krupa Municipality Declares State of Natural Disaster

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Municipal Civil Protection Headquarters of Bosanska Krupa, following the example of the Government of the Federation of BiH, has declared a state of disaster in Bosanska Krupa due to the emergence of coronavirus.

The decision was made today at a session convened by commander Armin Halitović via telephone.

The adoption of the decision provides a legal basis for action on all key issues through shortened procedures. This includes, among other things, the procurement of equipment and the engagement of personnel.

"There are currently no confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in Bosanska Krupa, and we all hope there won't be, but we do not want to wait with the decision to declare a state of disaster. It is important for us to be able to organize ourselves as early as possible and, if necessary, to act using all possible and available means. Today we formed the Crisis Headquarters and adopted the Decision on a special regime of work in the administrative body for the duration of the danger of the spread of coronavirus, which means we have limited customer service to four hours with mandatory disinfection upon entering the building, employees are protected with masks and gloves, and tomorrow we will start washing and disinfecting the most frequented streets. That is all we can do at this moment," Halitović points out.

The commander reminds that at yesterday's session of the Headquarters, attended by representatives of the Health Center, Police Station, and Social Work Center, recommendations were given for the purpose of prevention and protection from coronavirus. Citizens are advised to adhere to all measures already adopted at higher levels of government and instructions from health institutions, to protect themselves and, if necessary, to self-isolate, it was announced on the Municipality's website.

Citizens are especially urged to reduce movement, to do only what is necessary, and to be maximally cautious in contact with other people, especially in large groups.

In accordance with the federal, as well as the municipal decision on declaring a state of disaster, the Municipal Civil Protection Headquarters of Bosanska Krupa is making all available resources available, which will be used in endangered areas according to the plans for the protection and rescue of people and material goods.
