(PATRIA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina and President of HDZ, Dragan Čović, sent a telegram of condolence to the President and Prime Minister of Poland, Andrzej Duda and Mateusz Morawiecki.
He sent the telegram of condolence after a bus with Polish license plates veered off the A4 Zagreb - Goričan highway this morning. The accident occurred between the towns of Jarek Bisaški and Podvorec, i.e., between Zagreb and Varaždin. The passengers were traveling to Međugorje, and it is assumed that the driver fell asleep while driving. At least 12 passengers were killed and more than 40 were injured.
"We were deeply saddened and regretful to learn the news of the horrific traffic accident that occurred this morning in the Republic of Croatia, in which citizens of the Republic of Poland tragically perished on their way to Međugorje. On behalf of the Croatian people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in my own name, I express my deepest condolences and sympathy to you, the families and friends of the victims, as well as to the entire nation of the Republic of Poland in these difficult moments. May God grant eternal peace and tranquility to the deceased, and a speedy recovery to the injured. Please convey the sincere condolences to the families of the tragically deceased," Čović wrote in the telegram.
