Dragan Čović assessed Thompson's concert in Mostar as an ordinary concert, although, he said, some tried to give it a different dimension.
The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Croat people and president of HDZ BiH told reporters today in Mostar after the HNS session that the HNS supported the concert organizer, and that he saw nothing wrong with it.
- If a musical event, or a concert, is going to be an attack on anything in Bosnia and Herzegovina, then we should be worried – said Čović, commenting on accusations from numerous political parties and non-governmental organizations that it is a fascist concert, which insults the victims of the past war and deepens inter-ethnic tensions in the country.
Croatian singer Thompson, known for several fascist songs, in which he calls for killing, will hold a concert in Mostar on Thursday in support of the six former leaders of the self-proclaimed Herceg-Bosna, provisionally convicted of war crimes before the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague. Thompson's concerts have previously been banned in several European Union member states.
Commenting on the reaction of Great Britain, which warned its citizens traveling to BiH about the danger due to Thompson's concert in Mostar on June 8, Čović said that Mostar is the safest city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that all similar events can carry a certain risk, writes NAP.
