Chairman of the BiH Presidency Dragan Čović held a meeting with ambassadors of NATO member states accredited in BiH at his initiative.
An open and interactive exchange of views focused on the current situation regarding the European and Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was announced from the office of Chairman Čović.
It is stated that Čović informed the ambassadors in detail about the activities undertaken so far and emphasized the importance of the integration process, both for Bosnia and Herzegovina and for regional and European stability and security.
The common stance of those present is that it is necessary to preserve the currently enhanced dynamics related to the fulfillment of the so-called Tallinn criteria for the activation of the Membership Action Plan (MAP), and to continue working on removing the objective obstacles and limitations that exist in this process. At the same time, further engagement is needed to support the rule of law, and to create an appropriate political climate and strengthen mutual trust throughout BiH, which will ultimately greatly contribute to meeting these conditions.
The exceptional contribution of the BiH Ministry of Defence to these processes was also noted, as well as the upcoming joint visit of the BiH Minister of Defence and the BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs to NATO Headquarters in Brussels, which represents an additional opportunity for even more intensive action in the spirit of mutually beneficial partnership.
