Čović deceived Croatian veterans!

The wartime mayor of Mostar and president of the Association of Former HVO members Jadranko Topić stated his indignation at the behavior of Dragan Čović, president of HDZ BiH, because during the redistribution of federal ministries in the formation of the Government, the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs was not allocated to Croats, although it was promised to them during the pre-election campaign.

Instead of this ministry, Topić states, Croats received the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sports, which HDZ has claimed for some time is unconstitutional.

HDZ BiH and the parties gathered around this political party, led by Čović, during the pre-election campaign for the General Elections in October 2014, appealed to voters' emotions by promoting stories about the Homeland War and the endangerment of the rights of Croatian veterans. Based on such propaganda, they won the elections among the Croatian people.

Croatian veterans now claim that all of this was just a deception.

- It was promised from the Presidency of HDZ BiH to secure the position of minister in the Federal Ministry for Affairs of Veterans and Disabled of the Homeland War, as a condition for participation and formation of government bodies after the elections, as well as the formation of two administrations or directorates within the ministry, one of which would be responsible for caring for HVO members – state Croatian veterans.

And now they conclude that Croatian negotiators have given up on the Federal Ministry for Affairs of Veterans and Disabled of the Homeland War and decided to fight for ministries that benefit various interest groups, reports Patria.
