Čović goes to see Radončić in prison, Izetbegović believes SBB will no longer block Parliament's work

A meeting of representatives of SDA and HDZ BiH was held at the BiH Presidency, and the situation in the Federation was discussed, writes the Patria News Agency.

The third coalition partner, SBB, was not represented at the meeting, and participants said the discussion was actually about the relationship between the two parties.

Bakir Izetbegović, president of SDA, said that the leader of HDZ, Dragan Čović, initiated this meeting, and rightly so.

- Some things are not moving fast enough and not going well enough. Laws and investments need to be realized faster. Funds from OHR, funds intended for the removal of collective centers where refugees are accommodated, are stalled, and this needs to be accelerated. We also talked about personnel appointments – said Izetbegović, adding that representatives of SBB will also be invited to the next meeting.

- I think the situation from a few days ago has been overcome. That is, the situation where SBB wanted to draw attention to Fahrudin Radončić's position, so they did not participate in discussions or vote in the Federal Parliament – said Izetbegović.

Dragan Čović, leader of HDZ, emphasized that he thinks the meeting provided the answer they were looking for.

- That is, to continue working even more intensively on the reform agenda and the master plan we adopted, because recently the question has constantly arisen whether we are together and whether it is a true partnership. We will have the same meeting very soon for the BiH level as well, because I think we are working too slowly, we are agreeing too slowly, and if we want serious investment momentum and if we want to stabilize the situation in the Federation, we must show that partnership in action – emphasized Čović.

He added that some overvoting occurred in the FBiH Parliament.

- Today we concluded that this must never happen again. We must first sit down and agree on things, and then let it proceed smoothly. The dynamics we had in the last five or six months have deviated in the last month from what we wanted. The Prime Minister told us clearly that he is slowly feeling that his room for maneuver is narrowing. We must change that – emphasized Čović.

When asked if the Alliance for Better Future was discussed, Čović said:

- It is difficult to establish this kind of communication when the president of SBB is absent, as it could send a different message – we are meeting without the president of SBB. I will check with my associates to contact Mr. Radončić as well, to visit him these days, and to talk as friends and colleagues. I think there is no alternative to this partnership, regardless of what anyone else says. I am sure that the representatives of SBB and Radončić will understand this. I wish him strength to endure all the trials he is facing – said Čović, adding that the representatives of SBB should also be understood.

- They constantly want to show that activities are being carried out against their president that have no basis in legislative frameworks, and they want to present it as political lynching. Now, so as not to speculate about it, I hope to visit Radončić and discuss all these matters – added Čović.
