SARAJevo, (Patria) - The Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, had a telephone meeting today with the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik.
The officials exchanged views on the state of the healthcare system and the economy, referring to the measures taken in the fight against the coronavirus. The upcoming period, they concluded, requires active political action and cooperation, which are key to bringing the pandemic under control and protecting the health of citizens and the economy. Agreeing on the necessity of providing necessary assistance and materials to healthcare and businesses, and protecting workers across the country, they welcomed initiatives to stimulate the domestic economy as well as initiatives addressed to representatives of the European Union to exclude Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan countries from the decision to ban the export of medical equipment from the EU.
On that occasion, the officials concluded that solidarity and cooperation, along with political stability and fairness, are essential in a period when all levels of government across the country must be ready to respond to the challenges facing citizens and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
