"Čović and Dodik Officially a Pro-Russian Coalition, HDZ and Parties from RS Against Accelerating NATO Path"

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the 53rd session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an initiative by MP Denis Bećirović was discussed, tasking the Council of Ministers to prepare and submit a report to parliament within 30 days of the initiative's adoption, detailing Bosnia and Herzegovina's progress in the NATO accession process and proposing concrete measures to accelerate BiH's activities on the path to full NATO membership.

However, HDZ BiH and SNSD ensured that such an initiative would not be adopted, thus confirming once again the partnership between Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik.

Out of a total of 40 representatives present at the session, 23 voted in favor of adopting the initiative, 17 voted against, with no abstentions.

Representatives of the Croatian Democratic Union and representatives of all parties originating from Republika Srpska voted against the adoption of the initiative.

"This is the true confirmation of who the pro-Russian forces in our country are," were some of the comments from MPs who were in favor of adopting the initiative.

Dodik stated yesterday that the BiH entity of RS will suspend any activities related to the implementation of the MAP (Membership Action Plan) program for BiH.

In 2005, the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina adopted a decision on MAP, which Dodik's SNSD also voted for. At that time, Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to NATO was agreed upon.

"No declaration by the Assembly of the RS entity can be valid because MAP was signed by all three parties at the state level, making any unilateral action unacceptable. Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot be prevented from joining NATO by less than half of the country. And decisions of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina cannot be changed so arbitrarily," experts warned earlier.
