Cormack traveling to the US next week: America has invested a lot in Bosnia and Herzegovina

On the day of the presidential elections in the United States of America, the US Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized an "Election Night" in Sarajevo. During the evening, numerous guests of the US Embassy are following the presidential elections in the United States of America, writes Patria.

The US Ambassador to BiH, Maureen Cormack, as reported by Patria's reporter, revealed that she is traveling to the US next week where she will discuss the continuation of US policy in BiH. She also emphasized that the US has invested a lot in BiH so far.

Ambassador Cormack also presented her view on the American elections in her statement.

- In American elections, as in any other, there are certain disagreements during the election campaign where people represent different interests and issues. This is the case in the US and countries around the world. I think that after the elections, we in America unite and stand behind the same things, or become a loyal opposition to those who have won and jointly implement policies that benefit everyone – stated Cormack.

Americans could today vote for the Democratic Party candidate Hillary Clinton or the Republican candidate Donald Trump. Voting takes place in one round separately in each of the 50 American federal states and the city of Washington, and victory in a particular state determines how the members of the Electoral College, the body that actually elects the US President, will vote. The Electoral College has 538 members, and federal states are represented proportionally to their population. In the 2012 US presidential elections, voter turnout was less than 54 percent.
