BiH Presidency Members Without Concrete Agreement in Brussels

BRUSSELS, (Patria) - The visit of the BiH Presidency members to Brussels, at least according to initial reactions, did not yield any agreement.

The focus of the talks was on amendments to the Election Law, and the only thing agreed upon was to continue negotiations, N1 reports.

First, a joint dinner, and then separate meetings with Joseph Daul, head of the European People's Party. The topic of all meetings - Amendments to the BiH Election Law.

- We are primarily discussing the House of Peoples, although Mr. Čović insists on including the issue of electing the Presidency members, but that will not be discussed here in Brussels - Bakir Izetbegović told N1.

According to what Izetbegović said, there was no discussion about the implementation of the rulings of the Strasbourg court, Sejdić-Finci, nor Zornić-Pilav.

Only the ruling of the BiH Constitutional Court in the Ljubić case was discussed.

- I believe that in February, we will gather in Sarajevo with the institutions of the International Community to finally agree on a solution regarding the Election Law - Dragan Čović stated after the meeting.

- Any progress will depend primarily on the SDA and HDZ. This is a meeting in which Europe has clearly stated, especially the EPP, we want to help you come up with a new Election Law and solve your problems, we cannot do your job, but we can help you - emphasizes Mladen Ivanić.

After the meeting with Daul, the Presidency also met with the European Commissioner for External Affairs, Federica Mogherini. The topic of the meeting was reforms and again - the Election Law.
