SARAJevo, (Patria) - Members of the Facebook group Glas malih biznisa, which includes a large number of business entities out of 48,000 members, held peaceful but very effective protests today, to point out their unenviable position, demanding the urgent payment of contribution subsidies, which they are still waiting for after the FBiH Government adopted the "corona law".
Employees today came out in front of their shops and business premises with printed demands, expressing dissatisfaction with the inadequate response of the authorities to the crisis that has affected both large and small businesses.
The founder of the GMB group and owner of the marketing agency MITA and the bakery chain Ejub Kučuk told the media that most small businesses and crafts were banned from operating and people were left stranded.
"The corona law has not yet been implemented, subsidies for March have not yet been finalized, and May is nearing its end. Over 43,000 people have lost their jobs, turnover has fallen by over 1.9 billion KM, many small businesses that kept their employees and hoped for some help are now forced to lay off workers," said Kučuk.
These are some of the conditions they demanded today:
"We demand the urgent payment of contribution subsidies. We demand the urgent payment of minimal wages for March and April for companies covered by cantonal subsidies.
"We demand a suspension of inspections and penalties for companies for 2 months from the opening of the market. We demand a reduction in VAT on catering and tourism services, as in Germany. We demand exemption from paying all cantonal and municipal taxes and parafiscal charges.".
