Civil Protection plans procurement of tents, field beds, and field kitchen

The Municipal Civil Protection Staff of Centar Municipality Sarajevo at a regular session, chaired by Staff Chief Vahid Bećirević, adopted the Proposal for procurement of equipment and resources for the formed civil protection structures, for which funds have been allocated in the budget of Centar Municipality for 2016, it was announced from Centar Municipality, reports the Patria News Agency.  

Thus, the procurement of a field pick-up vehicle, as well as tents, field beds, and a field kitchen, which would be used in case of natural or other disasters, is planned. In addition, for the needs of the Fire Protection Service, formed within the "Bjelave" Volunteer Fire Department, the procurement of an airbag for rescuing people from burning or collapsed buildings is planned.

At this session, the Staff's Program of Activities for 2016 was also adopted. Among the more significant topics to be discussed at the sessions of the Municipal Civil Protection Staff are: the new Development Program for the protection and rescue of the Centar municipality area; the Program for educating elementary school students on fire protection; completed landslide remediation projects in the Centar area in 2015 and landslide remediation projects in 2016; the condition of dilapidated buildings that pose a danger; the condition of shelters managed by Centar Municipality; remediation of the banks and bed of Koševski stream; preparations and execution of a drill involving the formed civil protection structures.

The Municipal Civil Protection Staff also adopted the Financial Report on the expenditure of Centar Municipality's civil protection funds for 2015 and concluded that the funds were used purposefully and that the unspent funds were transferred to the budget for 2016.

Members of the Municipal Civil Protection Staff were informed about the work on installing the Warning and Notification System for the citizens of Centar municipality, as well as the ongoing work on remediating the Lasac landslide in Nahorevo, according to the announcement.
