A month ago, the Patria news agency published a letter by Almir Bečarević in which he claimed that the gas price has a drastic downward trend.
Now, media in Europe have also started publishing gas price estimates for 2015. These estimates are given with almost absolute accuracy, and very small deviations are possible.
Thus, the expected price in the second quarter of 2015 is already around 270 USD per 1,000 cubic meters.
The estimate is that the average gas price in 2015 will be around 222 USD per 1,000 cubic meters. This is a drop of 35 percent when we take the price from the last quarter of 2014 (375 USD) and the expected price by the end of 2015 of 222 USD per 1,000 cubic meters.
- Compared to the historical gas price from 2012 (530 USD), this is a drop of 60 percent (the dollar exchange rate, the main argument of BH-Gas, seems ridiculous compared to this drop in gas prices). The price of Russian gas has been reduced from 530 USD in 2012 to 339 USD per 1,000 Sm3 in the first quarter of 2015, with a tendency to be around 200 USD by the end of the year (an estimate given and submitted a month ago) - explains Bečarević.
He added that he wants to repeat once again that the gas price is dropping drastically, while on our market it remains unchanged.
- I say all this because of the announced suspension and all the problems existing in the gas sector. Whether we should react or remain silent, whether the public should be informed about this, whether the authorities should know about this drop in gas prices, whether to cut off gas to Sarajevo or increase service prices - judge for yourselves. My intentions were, when I submitted the gas price estimate for 2015, to reduce the gas price, facilitate business between companies, and make gas more accessible to citizens and industry - added Bečarević.
