(Patria) - After accepting the plea agreement, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo found guilty police officers of the Traffic Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS, namely Elvir Sipović, Emrah Hasanspahić, Damir Bihorac, Alen Kozić, and Amel Bulbul for the criminal offenses of receiving gifts and other benefits and abuse of position or authority.
Sipović, Bihorac, Bulbul, and Kozić were sentenced to one year in prison each, while Hasanspahić was sentenced to seven months in prison. At the same time, they are prohibited from performing the duties, activities, or functions of a police officer for a period of five years.
They were found guilty of demanding or receiving, among other things, money from drivers who committed traffic violations during their duties, depending on the patrol composition from June to mid-August 2020, in order to not sanction them at all or to issue them a violation order with milder penalties without a driving ban and penalty points.
The trial continues for the other defendants.
